Salmon Falls River

A tributary of the Piscataqua River, the Salmon Falls River borders Milton Mills along the southern Maine border. From its start at Great East Lake, it flows approximately 38 miles and joins the Cocheco River to form the Piscataqua River closer to the New Hampshire Seacoast.

The river was names by local Abenaki as Newichawannock which means "river with many falls."

​

The river offers opportunity for fishing, kayaking and wildlife observation.
